Are you planning a New Year‘s Eve party? Forget about the desserts you have prepared for a hundred times already! Try verrines!
You may notice that on many social events, small goodies are served in different types of glass containers very often. There is a special word for that – verrines which comes from the French word verre which means glass. Verrines are composed of layers of different texture, flavours and colours.
This luxury in glass has its origin in Paris. Famous Parisian chocolatiers like Pierre Hermé and Fauchon were among the first ones who started to put their sweet creations in new, transparent containers. It‘s possible that they didn‘t know they would invent a new international trend.
What are the advantages of the verrines? You need neither a long time nor professional skilfulness to prepare them. In addition, because you can prepare them beforehand, you don‘t need to spend a lot of time in the kitchen instead of enjoying the party. And what‘s more, it is not necessary to sit at the table, you can hold your dessert in the glass in your hand, smiling and talking at the same time. As if the verrines were really made for a party!
